Zuccardi Los Olivos Chardonnay

Delicately oaked and deliciously full. A prime example of Zuccardi craftmanship!

Zuccardi are a notable wine producer based in the Uco Valley in Argentina, recognised for their commitment to quality and innovation in winemaking. Founded by Alberto Zuccardi in the 1960s, the winery has evolved under the guidance of his son, José Zuccardi, who has focused on sustainable practices, creating terroir-driven wines.

The Uco Valley, located in Argentina's Mendoza province, is a region characterised by high-altitude vineyards, rocky soils and diverse microclimates. The valley benefits from a combination of warm days and cool nights, which aids in the development of grape acidity and flavour. Predominantly known for Malbec, the region also produces high quality wines from other varietals such as Chardonnay.

Los Olivos Chardonnay is an excellent example of Chardonnay at an affordable price. On the nose, it presents a blend of citrus and stone fruit aromas, with notes of lemon zest, green apple and peach. Flavours of ripe pear and citrus dominate, with a touch of creaminess that suggests some lees ageing and oak influence, although it is not overpowering. The finish is clean and relatively long considering the price tag. Worth every penny.
