Wines of Bulgaria

Europe is known for its rich and plentiful wine regions, and one such region is Bulgaria.

Located in the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula, bordering Greece and Turkey to the south, Romania to the north, Macedonia to the southwest, Serbia to the west and the Black Sea to the east. Bulgaria is quite possibly the most successful producer of wines out of all the Eastern European countries.

Typically divided into five main wine regions, each with a diverse range of microclimates, Bulgaria is able to grow a huge variety of grapes – both native and international - producing a wealth of different styles of wine.

Our host, Yordan Rusev from The Old Cellar/Globul Wines, will be guiding us through a selection of Bulgarian wines, giving us a better understanding of the great wines this country has to offer.

We make a seating plan for events that are held in The Wine Library. We have both high and low seating options, some more comfy than others, so please inform us if you have any special requirements. Likewise, do tell us if you wish to be sat with someone who has booked separately, we often just have to guess!

Tickets to our tastings are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, do get in touch as we often keep a cancellations list for those who missed out on tickets. If that’s not the case, we’ll always try and help re-sell them through social media (no guarantees). Alternatively, feel free to pass them to friends or family – we only need the name of the person who booked for entry on the night.
