Quinta Dos Roques Encruzado 2022

A rare native white to Portugal. Wonderfully aromatic, rich and creamy.

Quinta dos Roques is a 3rd generation family-owned winery. They only work with our own traditional grape varieties to make the traditional Portuguese blends and were pioneers in making varietal wines in the Dão Region during the 90s.

Currently they have 6 white varieties, 6 reds, and 3 mixed vineyards of +40 years, to produce a great variety of wines, Luis Lourenço runs this family winery, a leader in the Dão region, which is credited with reviving the reputation of the indigenous Encruzado grape.

Part barrel-fermented and aged for seven months on its lees with some batonnage. It has good ageing potential thanks to its fine structure and fresh acidity. Perfect to drink with snacks and big enough to tackle most meals.

Light straw perfectly clear to the eye, with an elegant bouquet of fruits and a slight touch of resin. On the palate the first impression is of freshness but immediately there is a great structure and complexity to the wine. The finish is very long and persistent. This is a textured, full-bodied, nutty white with creamy richness along with notes of citrus zest, white flowers and orchard fruit and sweet spice.
