Louis Roederer Quartet

A Californian sparkling with Champagne credentials.

Quartet is Champagne Louis Roederer’s outpost in California’s cool, fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. After years of research theyidentified key areas that would suit the production of high quality sparkling wine. Today, 235 hectares are located across 4 distinct vineyard sites – hence the name. The cool climate and free draining soils are ideal for the growing of Champagne varietals, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Quartet is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The winemaking style is based on two elements: 100% Estate grown fruit and the addition of oak-aged reserve wines to each year’s blend. Malolactic fermentation is discouraged to keep it crisp and the wine aged for at least 2 years on lees before disgorgement.

This is regarded as one of the finest new world traditional method sparklings. Crisp and elegant, it has beautiful pineapple and brioche aromas, with complex pear, cinnamon spice and hazelnut flavours. It is fresh yet layered and complex with great finesse and depth of flavour.
