Gaia Estate Agiorgitiko

Smooth and concentrated packed with red fruits.

Gaia Estate was established in 1994 by Greek winemakers Leon Karatsalos and Yiannis Paraskevopoulos. Operating from two different wineries in the important wine growing regions of Nemea and Santorini, they have earned a reputation for making cutting-edge wines.

Agiorgitiko is a fragrant red wine grape native to Greece's Peloponnese peninsula. The vineyards are located near to Koutsi, a semi-mountainous village and are known for their chalky soils and good drainage. The cool temperatures, the ideal sun exposure and the steep inclination of the vineyards combine to produce lower yields than other parts of Nemea, meaning the berries have excellent concentration of flavour.

Silky smooth with a velvety finish and intense aromatic aromas of ripe berries and gooseberry through to caramel and discreet oak nuances due to it's 12 month in aged oak casks. Soft tannins underline a rich, well structured body.
