Dominio do Bibei Lalume

Treixadura from the green mountains of Galicia.

Since his first vintage in 2001, Javier Dominguez’s Dominio do Bibei has been widely considered to be the driving force behind the emergence of quality wines in Spain’s historic Ribeira Sacra.

His family bought land in the Bibei Valley, Ribeira’s most easterly sub-region, and today they own 140 hectares, of which 45 are planted with vines. They’ve worked hard to revive the region and its native vines, undertaking what is known locally as ‘heroic viticulture’.

Made from Treixadura, the white grape of neighbouring Ribeiro, plus a splash of Albarino, Lalume has aromas of white peach, blossom, honeysuckle and a hint of herbs. Medium bodied with good salinity, it has a lightly oily texture balanced by excellent acidity.
