Domaine Guy Allion Pinot Noir
Light and refreshing Pinot Noir from Loire. A fabulous choice for anyone who enjoys a lighter red.
Nestled on the clay-siliceous slopes of the right bank of the Cher River, our vineyard benefits from a south-west exposure. Among the oldest plots of our estate, the vines were planted in 1974. To make this wine, we carefully destem the harvest and launch a traditional fermentation process with regular pumping over. To preserve the purity of the fruit's expression, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, to highlight its natural qualities. After a gentle resting period in the vats, the wine matures gracefully for an average of ten months in oak barrels that have previously hosted three vintages, this helps to soften the acidity of the Pinot Noir but not impart too much secondary character that would take away from the purity of the fruit.
To the eye, this Pinot Noir has a delicate crimson colour with silky purple undertones. Its aroma is complex, conjuring up images of delicious black fruits and red fruits such as strawberries, blackcurrants and raspberries. When tasted, this wine reveals its velvety texture after a robust initial impression, revealing flavours of perfectly ripe grapes, accompanied by a subtle touch of liquorice, followed by a mesmerizing spicy finish that lends an exceptional character to this remarkable wine.
