Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Amazing, world-famous Napa Valley Cabernet from Saint Helena.

Corison Winery is a small family run winery producing delicious Cabernet Sauvignons that speak of place. Over three decades, Cathy Corison and William Martin have built a special home to celebrate the best of that little corner of the world, Benchland in the heart of the Napa Valley.

Known for power and elegance, Corison wines are balanced to grace the table and are recognized throughout the world for their longevity and consistency. Cathy Corison is undoubtedly one of the most influential winemakers in Napa Valley. With a hands-off approach to winemaking, she lets the wine do all the talking.

Corison holds a well-deserved reputation for producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignons that represent the heart of the iconic Napa Valley. This complex Cab offers a symphony of aromas, with black cherry and cassis taking centre stage.

Cathy's winemaking philosophy is deeply rooted in her respect for the vineyards. Recognising the inherent power of Cabernet Sauvignon, she aims to harness its strength while embracing elegance. This equilibrium is achieved through meticulous vineyard management, ensuring grapes reach optimal ripeness with a retained vibrancy. In the winery, her non-interventionist approach lets the grapes express themselves. Post-fermentation, the wines mature for twenty months in French oak barrels, allowing for a nuanced development of character.

Full of alluring and luxurious dark fruit aromas and flavours, on the palate it's layered and textural. Blueberries, black cherry and violets are well supported by fine tannins and a wonderful acidity.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most well-known grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon makes some of the world's finest red wines, whether on its own or blended with other varieties. Surprisingly, it is a natural cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux, France.

Cabernet Sauvignon is loved for its high concentration and age worthiness. The intense flavour and high tannin content make it the perfect partner to rich grilled meats, peppery sauces, and dishes with bold flavours.

Old World Cabernet Sauvignons, aka your classic French Bordeaux bottles, tend to have a brooding character, with robust tannins adding structure and blackcurrant fruit shining through. In the New World - California and the southern hemisphere (Chile, Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia) - Cabernets tend to develop a sense of fullness and weight. Rich in blackcurrant, mint and occasionally green bell pepper flavours along with firm tannins.
