Bratanov Family Winery Tamianka

Floral and refined white from the south of Bulgaria.

One of a number of Bulgarian wines brought to us by our friend Yordan, this white comes from the Sarkar mountain in the Thracian Lowlands of southern Bulgaria. This part of the country is close to the border with Turkey, with the Black Sea to the east, with Tamianka, a variety identical to the Muscat a Petit Grains of France (and elsewhere around the world), considered indigenous to the country. Deliciously floral, weighty but well balanced and elegant. Treat like dry Alsatian Muscat, so brilliant with charcuterie and cheese.
