Producer: Victoria Torres Pecis

Victoria Torres Pecis is the fifth generation of her family to make wine on La Palma, continuing a winemaking tradition that dates back to 1885.

Based in Fuencaliente at the southern tip of the island, Victoria works small parcels of old, often ungrafted vines across La Palma, including Malvasía, Listán Blanco and Negramoll.

Her vineyards are farmed organically and largely by hand, with a low-intervention approach in the winery.

The island’s dramatic volcanic landscape, varied altitudes and soils create wines with an unmistakable sense of place.

Victoria’s Malvasía comes from exceptionally old vines and is a beautiful expression of both the grape and La Palma’s unique maritime, volcanic character.

La Palma is one of Spain’s most distinctive wine islands, located in the Canary Islands off the northwest coast of Africa.

Its dramatic volcanic landscape, Atlantic breezes and high-altitude vineyards create wines with remarkable freshness and character.

Vines are often planted on steep, rugged slopes and volcanic soils, with some parcels at more than 1,000 metres above sea level.

The island’s varied microclimates allow a fascinating range of grape varieties to thrive, including Malvasía, Listán Blanco, Albillo Criollo and Negramoll.

Many vineyards are small and family-run, with old vines and traditional, low-intervention methods still common.

The combination of intense sunshine, cool Atlantic influence and mineral-rich volcanic soils produces wines that are typically aromatic, vibrant and often marked by a distinctive saline, mineral quality — a true expression of La Palma’s unique terroir.

Grape: Malvasía Aromática

Malvasía Aromática

Malvasía is a family of aromatic grape varieties found across the Mediterranean and beyond, with a long history in the Canary Islands.

Known for producing intensely perfumed wines, Malvasía can show everything from delicate white flowers and citrus to ripe stone fruit, herbs, honey and exotic spice, depending on the variety and where it is grown.

In La Palma, the grape benefits from the island’s volcanic soils, Atlantic influence and abundant sunshine, producing wines that combine aromatic richness with impressive freshness and minerality.

While Malvasía is often associated with sweet wines, it can also make beautifully dry, complex whites.

Made from 100% Malvasía on the volcanic island of La Palma - part of the Canary Islands - this is a dry white with remarkable freshness, texture and character.

The nose combines ripe citrus and fleshy stone fruit with floral aromas, wild herbs and a distinctive saline, flinty edge.

On the palate it is bone dry and mineral-driven, with bright acidity, concentrated citrus and a gently creamy texture from lees ageing.

Old vines and the island’s volcanic soils give the wine impressive depth without sacrificing freshness.

Its salty, mineral character makes it a natural partner for seafood, particularly grilled or simply prepared fish, shellfish and ceviche.
