POP! A Sparkling Wine Tasting.....
Grower Champagnes, English Sparkling and a whole lot of fun...
With Christmas hurtling towards us at a frankly alarming speed, we thought it was about time to get some new fizz on the shelves. After all, nothing says festive cheer quite like the sound of a popping cork!
This year, we're shaking things up a little and setting out to prove that there's a whole lot more to sparkling wine than big-name Champagnes, oceans of Prosecco and whatever's on special offer at the supermarket.
First up, we're diving headfirst into the brilliant world of Grower Champagne. Forget the famous Champagne houses and their enormous marketing budgets for a moment. We're championing the smaller, independent producers who grow their own grapes and create wines that genuinely reflect their vineyards, villages and personalities. These are Champagnes with character, individuality and often a considerably better quality-to-price ratio than their more famous neighbours. Less money spent on celebrity endorsements, more money spent on what's actually in the bottle 😊
Next, we're heading back across the Channel to celebrate English Sparkling Wine. With talented winemakers, increasingly impressive vineyards and a growing collection of world-class wines, England is producing fizz that can comfortably hold its own, and often better, some of Champagne's finest producers. We'll be exploring everything from elegant, traditional-method classics to some rather exciting new styles that are helping put English wine firmly on the map.
And because we have a habit of getting carried away when it comes to wine, we're not stopping there!
It wouldn’t be a Tivoli Wines tasting unless we show some of the more unusual, innovative and downright bonkers sparkling wines being made around the world. Think wonderfully wild pét-nats, obscure grape varieties, unconventional winemaking techniques and bottles from places you probably wouldn't expect to find bubbles. Some will be reassuringly familiar, others might raise an eyebrow or two, but that's half the fun.
So gather your friends, loosen your festive belts and join us for an evening of brilliant bubbles
We’ll have only 45 tickets available for this tasting, so don’t hang around!
Our 'Festival' tastings are standing events that are approximately 2-2.5hrs long, so please bear this in mind upon booking. We do have a limited number of high stools available should you need a seat, but please let us know in advance if you require one. We also tend to show quite a few wines, so recommend eating beforehand.Â
We split you into two or three groups for the tasting, so if you have friends/family who have booked separately, please let us know that you'd like to be put together!Â
Tickets to our tastings are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, do get in touch as we often keep a cancellations list for those who missed out on tickets. If that’s not the case, we’ll always try and help re-sell them through social media (no guarantees). Alternatively, feel free to pass them to friends or family – we only need the name of the person who booked for entry on the night.
