Malinga is the project of young Austrian winemaker Christoph Heiss, based in the Kamptal region of Lower Austria. The area is known for its cool climate, granite and loess soils, and long tradition of growing Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Heiss farms small parcels organically, working by hand and favouring minimal-intervention methods in the cellar. The vineyards include Grüner Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling and small amounts of other traditional Austrian varieties. The estate focuses on purity, texture and drinkability, often bottling wines unfiltered with very low sulphur. Although the Malinga project is relatively young, it draws on the family’s long farming background and a new generation’s commitment to ecological viticulture. The resulting wines are vibrant, honest and expressive of their cool-climate origins.

Kamptal is one of Austria’s leading wine regions, located in Lower Austria (Niederösterreich), just northwest of Vienna. Kamptal is part of Austria’s DAC system, with "Kamptal DAC" reserved for wines meeting strict quality and typicity standards.
