Established in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte. Our aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's winemaking team of Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese. We source from a range of private growers and cooperatives, with whom we have long term relationships, principally in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia.

Veneto, located in northeastern Italy, is one of the country’s most productive and diverse wine regions, known for both quantity and quality. Stretching from the foothills of the Alps to the Adriatic Sea, it benefits from a variety of microclimates and soil types, enabling the successful cultivation of numerous grape varieties.

The region’s climate is largely temperate, with warm summers and cold winters. The Alps provide shelter from harsh northern weather, while breezes from Lake Garda and the Adriatic Sea help to moderate temperatures and reduce disease pressure. These climatic influences support healthy ripening and maintain good acidity in the grapes.

Veneto is home to several renowned wine areas, including Valpolicella, Soave, and the Prosecco-producing hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. In Valpolicella, native red varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara are used to produce a range of wines, from fresh Valpolicella Classico to powerful Amarone della Valpolicella. Soave focuses on white wines made primarily from Garganega, offering citrus, almond, and floral notes.

Prosecco, made mainly from the Glera grape, has become one of the world’s most popular sparkling wines. Other important grapes include Merlot, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay, reflecting the region’s balance of tradition and international appeal.

Durello (aka Durella) is a native white of the Veneto, centred on the Monti Lessini hills between Verona and Vicenza. Its name—meaning “hard” or “tough”—alludes to the grape’s thick skins and bracing natural acidity. Vigorous vines thrive on the area’s poor, volcanic soils, where controlled yields translate that acidity into drive and definition; the variety remains relatively rare outside its home turf.

Best known for sparkling wines under the Lessini Durello DOC, Durello’s piercing freshness suits both Traditional Method (metodo classico) and tank-fermented (Charmat) styles; it also appears in still and occasional sweet bottlings. Expect a cool, zesty profile—lemon, lime and green apple—layered with stony, saline minerality from the volcanic hills. With extended lees ageing, flavours deepen towards brioche, toasted nut and creamy texture while retaining a bone-dry, mouth-watering finish. Overall, alcohol levels are modest and the line is taut, making Durello a distinctive alternative to more familiar Italian sparklers and a natural partner for seafood and salty snacks.
