Domaine Thevenard is a young family domaine in Uchizy in the Mâconnais, although its roots stretch back more than a century. The family story began with Claudius Lafarge, who returned from the First World War and became the first grower to plant Chardonnay in Uchizy.

His daughter Marguerite married Roger Thevenard, and the family continued developing the vineyards until 1967, when they joined the local cooperative.

In 2021, Pascal Thevenard and his sons Matthieu and Gaëtan reclaimed 12 hectares from the cooperative and established Domaine Thevenard.

The white wines, primarily Chardonnay, range from steely, mineral-driven styles in Chablis to richer, oak-aged versions from Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, showing flavours of citrus, apple, nuts, and butter.

Burgundy’s wines are highly sought after for their purity, complexity, and expression of place, making the region a benchmark for both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir worldwide.

Chardonnay is one of the world’s most popular and versatile white grape varieties, originating from the Burgundy region of France.
