This Domaine has been in the Bellang family for several generations, dating back to 1789. In 1974, Christian took over the estate from his parents. The vineyards are mostly in Meursault, with some vines in Savigny les Beaune. His son Christophe joined him in 1995, and together the expanded their holdings, which today totals 9 hectares.

In the vineyard, they use environmentally-friendly disease control, and respect for the terroir is at the heart of their work. They believe that by doing this, their wines express the terroir and character of the vintage. They carefully control their yields to improve the quality of the grapes.

Wines are vinified in oak barrels using indigenous yeasts and are aged for 10-18 months depending on the vintage and appellation. Their wines are delicate and precise.

Meursault, located in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy, is one of the most celebrated appellations for white wine in the world. The climate is continental, with warm, sunny summers and cool, crisp winters, creating favourable conditions for slow grape ripening and balanced acidity. Rainfall is moderate and well-distributed, though vintage variation can be significant.

The soils of Meursault are dominated by limestone and marl, with variations of clay and gravel across different vineyards. These mineral-rich soils contribute to the distinctive character and complexity of the wines, supporting excellent drainage while retaining enough moisture for healthy vine growth.

Chardonnay is the principal grape variety, producing white wines that are rich yet refined. There is no grand cru in Meursault, but the appellation boasts numerous highly regarded premier cru vineyards. Red wines, made from Pinot Noir, are also produced in smaller quantities, though they are less renowned.

Meursault whites are renowned for their opulence and texture. They often show aromas of hazelnut, butter, and honey alongside fresh citrus, white flowers, and stone fruit. On the palate, they combine richness with mineral precision, ageing beautifully into notes of toast and spice.
