Germany & Austria

Be brave and get to know the quality wines of Germany Read More Show Less

This country hasn't always been drinking the best that German wine had to offer, but then nor was Germany exporting a great deal of it. 'Hock', 'Liebfraumilch' and a certain blue member of the convent weren't exactly gastronomic experiences, but did end up as gateway wines for a whole generation of wine drinkers. Impractically steep slopes unfold into idyllic countryside, with areas like the Rheingau, Rheinhessen and above all, Mosel, producing the most incredible Riesling imaginable
