Vidal Sauvignon Blanc

A classical Marlborough profile with added richness.

Vidal was established after a long search by Anthony Vidal for a New Zealand wine growing region with natural potential culminated in Hawkes Bay, marking the beginning of an enduring ambition to produce the best possible wine from the New Zealand landscape. This ambition saw Vidal expand to Marlborough to produce outstanding wines for which New Zealand is famous for worldwide. Having left behind their original winemaking site in Hastings, Vidal now produces its wines in a state-of-the-art winery built for quality.

This is a single varietal Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with grapes selected from both the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. Awatere and Wairau Valleys are known for their typical warm days and cool nights provide classic flavours, intensity and definition. Vineyard selection for this wine was based on the potential of each site to produce wines which show tropical fruit flavours and generosity.

intense aromas of passionfruit, citrus fruits and fresh herbs lead onto a palate of classic, Marlborough-style tropical fruit flavours. A portion of this wine is "lees-aged" resulting in a distinctive mid-palate weight. Thus, creating a wine that has the classical Marlborough style flavour profile with an added richness.
