Glera is a white grape variety best known as the principal grape used in the production of Prosecco, Italy’s most famous sparkling wine. It is rarely used for still wines and is almost exclusively vinified as a sparkling or semi-sparkling wine via the tank (Charmat) method, which preserves its fresh, fruity character.

Viticulturally, Glera is moderately vigorous and productive but sensitive to fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and botrytis, particularly in damp conditions. Careful canopy management and site selection are essential for achieving optimal ripeness and quality.

Pinot Noir is one of the world’s most celebrated and challenging grape varieties, renowned for producing elegant, complex wines. Believed to have originated in Burgundy, France, over 1,000 years ago, it thrives in cooler climates where its thin skin and early ripening nature are best suited. Viticulturally, Pinot Noir is notoriously difficult to grow: it is susceptible to rot, mildew, and pests, and requires precise canopy management to balance ripening with acidity retention.
