Barbeito Madeira Tasting
Barbeito Madeira Tasting
Pioneers in the world of Madeira wine since the 1940s.
Founded in 1946 by Mario Barbeito, a long-time connoisseur and enthusiast, who cemented his passion for his home of Madeira and the great wines it made, by founding the smallest of all Madeira producers and bottlers.
That passion and fascination trickled down to his grandson, Ricardo Diogo, who, since taking over from his mother more than 30 years ago, has transformed Barbeito into the most pioneering producer on the island. Ricardo possesses an unmatched energy and intuition for madeira wine, the nurturing required at so many levels.
There is true genius here. An approach to crafting great Madeira that requires mastery of the many variables that influence how these beautiful, vibrant, and expressive wines are born. Barbeito is recognised as a game-changer in terms of the quality and diversity of its bottlings, charting a new future chapter in the history of this great fortified wine.
Join us for a seated event in The Wine Library, where we'll be tasting a range of Barbeito's Madeira wines and learning more about this iconic producer.
We make a seating plan for events that are held in The Wine Library. We have both high and low seating options, some more comfy than others, so please inform us if you have any special requirements. Likewise, do tell us if you wish to be sat with someone who has booked separately, we often just have to guess!
Tickets to our tastings are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, do get in touch as we often keep a cancellations list for those who missed out on tickets. If that’s not the case, we’ll always try and help re-sell them through social media (no guarantees). Alternatively, feel free to pass them to friends or family – we only need the name of the person who booked for entry on the night.
