Renegade Urban Winery Varnika

A break-the-rules winery based in London’s E17, Renegade Urban Winery was founded in 2016. Not owning their own vineyards, they purchase top quality, hand harvested grapes from growers across the UK and Europe, racing them back to London to make innovative, modern styles of wine.

Pinot Noir grown in Suffolk, the grapes were destemmed by hand and fermented naturally (by wild yeasts). After fermentation it was pressed off the skins and transferred to oak barrels, where it aged for 1.5 years before being bottled.

Light-bodied, soft and fresh, Varnika oozes cherries and cranberries, before unveiling slightly greener flavours of nettles and rosemary.

And who is Varnika?... A 26 year old medical student from Stepney Green.
