Olivier Coste Chardonnay

An unoaked and deliciously fruity Chardonnay from the south of France.

Olivier Coste’s family has been farming in the Languedoc for a good while – since 1701 in fact. Olivier is a twelfth-generation winemaker and has a profound attachment to the Languedoc terroir, and an unerring focus on sustainability. Some of the estate’s energy used is 100% renewable. Farming is organic and biodiversity is encouraged through tree planting and wilderness preservation.

An unoaked but delightfully creamy well-rounded Chardonnay. With its gentle mouth feel it is a brilliant choice all year round. Perfect with cheese, salads and fish dishes. Grown on chalky and siliceous-clay gravels which help keep the fruit undiluted and nourished. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve freshness. Each terroir is vinified separately. They are destemmed before a short skin contact maceration and when it comes to fermentation the temperature is maintained low (15-18°C) to enhance fruitiness. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to keep that fresh varietal profile.
