Perticaia Montefalco Rosso
An Umbrian blend of Sangiovese and native Sagrantino.
The landlocked region of Umbria lies southeast of Tuscany, hence the appearance of Sangiovese in this wine. The wines of the area around Montefalco are famous for the ink black, tannic wines of the Sagrantino grape, which makes up 15% of the blend here, adding depth and structure. Together, there are ripe, bright red fruits, with no oak influence required to give this wines its character.
