Loxarel A Pel Ancestral Pet Nat
Delicious ancestral-method Spanish sparkler.
Loxarel began in the mid-1980s when at the tender age of 16, young Josep Mitjans made his first sparkling wines in Penedès. Things have grown since then, but a number of bottles still go to rest in air-raid shelters from the Spanish Civil War, repurposed by Josep as cellars.
This Pet Nat, or Ancestral, method sparkler is the product of one continuous fermentation, rather than the champagne method of refermenting a previously finished still wine. The result is a deliciously gentle fizz with lovely aromas of citrus peel, quince and apple and a herbal lift of fennel. A perfect example of a style that should have Prosecco looking over its shoulder.
N.B. Cork & Crown Cap, because why not?
