Hans Wirsching Iphofer Silvaner

Highly charged traditional German Silvaner.

Wirsching is one of the largest privately owned estates in Germany dating back to 1630. Now in its 14th generation, the family continue to create award winning wines that ooze opulence.
Silvaner from Franconia is so popular within Germany itself, that only around 3% reach outside the country's borders. So don’t be put off by the traditional Bocksbeutel bottling, this is an exciting wine that deserves some attention.
The grape is renowned for expressing its terroir; fruit is subtle and there’s a distinct green savouriness about it. Fuller-bodied with a bolt of acidity and a long, intensely mineral finish, this has great aging potential.
