Davenport Vineyards Horsmonden White

Davenport Horsmonden White a delicious English white blend.

Davenport Vineyards Horsmonden White is an unusual blend of grapes but the whole is definitely more than the sum of its parts. Bacchus, Ortega, Faber, Siegerrebe and Huxelrebe combine to create a fresh, wonderfully balanced, soft white. With orchard fruit evolving into light stone fruit, finishing with a lovely mineral zip. A great example of how to get the most out of these earlier ripening grapes.

Harvested in 2019 and bottled in 2020 giving this white blend a year to mature has softened the wine and brought its flavours to the front. The blend of varieties make it complex, fragranced and balanced and this is celebrated by Davenport Horsmonden white winning Silver at the WineGB awards 2020.

Davenport Vineyard

Davenport Vineyard

In 1991 Will Davenport planted 5 acres of vines at Horsmonden in Kent, while simultaneously working for a Hampshire vineyard and, unintentionally, this became the beginning of a life-long business as a wine producer

The winery at the East Sussex site in Rotherfield is capable of making up to 70,000 bottles of wine per year.

Not only does the winery pratice organically but they are also sustainable too. Electricity is generated on site by solar panels and all the packaging used is 100% recylable even the label is FSC certified paper!

The minimal intervention and care taken to produce wines at davenport is second to none and this has a positive impact on the quality of wines and give an amazing character.
