Blackbook Sea Of Love Pinot Blanc

Fresh and clean English Pinot Blanc.

Blackbook Sea of Love is a new release added to the range, this is their 2020 Pinot Blanc, grown in Essex and produced in an urban winery in Battersea. Blackbook Sea of Love is packed with citrus, green apple and white peach, and it has a sneaky finish carrying floral notes, grapefruit and subtle ginger spices. Only 600 bottles were made so be quick.

Blackbook are known for their love of texture, and they try to implement that as much as possible with their winemaking techniques. Grapes are hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, then the wine is aged in White Burgundy barrels for seven months with regular lees stirring.
So fresh and so clean.

The Story of Blackbook

The Story of Blackbook

Blackbook is the first solo project from winemaker, Sergio Verrillo, and his wife Lynsey.  They are both passionate Londoners who have long held the dream of starting an urban winery in London. The winery is located in a railway arch in Battersea, a stone's throw from Battersea Park in south London.

The grapes are sourced from growers within hours of the city, carefully selected for their well-located vineyards and high quality grapes. They endeavour to bring the hard work of our vineyard owners to the forefront by creating a range of single vineyard wines that showcase the quality and potential for making world-leading still wine here in England.

The Grape - Pinot Blanc

The Grape - Pinot Blanc

Pinot blanc is a white wine grape. It is a genetic mutation of Pinot noir which is genetically unstable and will occasionally produce a vine which bears all black fruit except for one cane which produces white fruit.

These grapes are grown in regions in France, Germany (known as Weissburgunder), Italy and California and gernerally make full bodied white wines with high acidity and  aromas of apple, grapefruit, lemon and a hint of floral.
