Balfour Liberty's Bacchus

An evolutionary English Bacchus with an Intensity and freshness that can be enjoyed with or without food.

Liberty’s Bacchus is named after the vineyards’ Head Dog, and is made from grapes grown on the Foxridge vineyards, at the very top of Hush Heath Estate.
An evolution of the English Bacchus style and from a winemaking standpoint our most complex wine to make. Wild ferments and oak are used to create layers of complexity, body and a spicy character which add a new dimension to the traditional Bacchus flavours of hedgerow and elderflower.

An intense, grassy nose with hints of rose petal and citrus spice. Fresh acidity with green apple, tangerine peel and a long, bright finish.

Hush Heath Estate is the home to Balfour Winery. A beautiful Tudor Estate in the heart of Kent, the Garden of England. The Estate comprises 400-acres of manicured vineyards, apple orchards, wildflower meadows and ancient oak woodland, rich in flora and fauna. Sustainability and conservation are of paramount importance and reflected in the practices used across the Estate.

Each of Balfour’s 200-acres of vineyards has been carefully chosen and planted to compliment their winemaking philosophy. Located on either clay, chalk or greensand each vineyard is an expression of its unique terroir.
